Anyone use renoise? CDM is making a big fuss about it.

REnoise is a tracker program. However, they have recently updated it with a tracker-that-acts-as-a-sequencer side (releasing tomorrow I believe).

I think this would be a great thing to discuss, as new controllerists are likely to shy away from the price of ableton (CDM says it's almost the same thing as ableton+M4L together ($600), but Renoise is only 50 euros). I don't really know what parts of it are controllable by midi. I was reading a renoise blog post that said vaguely "not everything is controllable by midi". Also, I don't think renoise talks to the controller quite yet. The developer just demoed the thing a few days ago I think.

I don't really know a whole lot about it, especially since I've never really used a tracker. I think that it would give greater control over the sequencer part though.

Please comment if you've used a controller with (even older versions of) ReNoise, saying if you've had any trouble mapping midi to any renoise functions.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.
