PC vs MAC!

I think that finally this needs to be adressed. I'm looking at getting a new lead computer and Im choosing between an apple iMac and maybe a PC laptop. What is controllerisms opinion on this!

If you go Mac, I'd suggest the most recent white MacBook (with firewire). The iMac isn't terribly portable.

They will all do the job. There are some firewire issues you need to look out for but you can find many threads on the web about this so there is no need to start another one. Nor is there any need to start a mac vs pc thread. Again the threads on this subject are as endless as they are pointless. My advice would be to survey the preferred platform amongst your friends and peers and go with the majority. Its hive mind. When one person learns something or "owns" something, everyone gains from it. And if controllerism.net is your only community then Id suggest starting a survey here.

Hmm, I never seem to have problems with my firewire port...
Mine (macbook 13") is 2 years old and still boots in around 15-20 seconds, and is really fast. Ableton runs natively in OSX, so no real drawbacks there.

I know this is posted a litte late, but what did you end up choosing?
